How to import a CSV quantity list
Purpose
Section titled “Purpose”Import a quantity list in LCAbyg 2023’s CSV format (the format behind “Create new project from CSV” in the desktop program). The constructions aren’t in the file itself: they’re referenced by library id and pulled from the library during the import.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”You have the .csv file, and the constructions it refers to exist in a library you have access
to. The file may be at most 50 MB. Text is read as UTF-8 with Windows-1252 as a fallback, and a
Danish decimal comma in quoted fields is accepted.
- Go to the project’s General information, and click Import.
- Choose CSV file (.csv), and pick the file.
- Confirm the import.
The same choice is on the Project overview under Import: there the CSV file creates a whole new project instead of a new version, and the project name is filled in from the file name. The file can also be used as a source in Update building model from file.
Result
Section titled “Result”A new version is created in the current project and becomes the current one. Each construction is placed under its category from the file, with the element name as its group, and the row’s quantity is set on the building product. Any warnings are shown in a report afterwards. If a row is invalid, e.g. a wrong id or a number that can’t be read, the import stops with a message pointing at the row number.
