Guide: new building product
Section titled “Guide: new building product”The creation wizard has up to five steps: Type → Details (name, unit, classification) → Structure (constructions only) → Emissions (modules and indicators) → Source (version, EPD source). Steps 3 and 4 can be skipped and completed later from the product’s detail page.
Building product types and what they’re used for:
| Type | Used for |
|---|---|
| Building material | The building model — real life cycle modules (A1-A3, C, D) and lifespan |
| Energy | Electricity, heat, water — used in Operation (B6), construction site (A5) and transport (A4) |
| Fuel | Diesel, petrol, HVO etc. — used on the construction site and in detailed transport |
| Transport mode | Truck, train, ship, plane — factor per kg·km, detailed transport |
| Transport standard | Standard transport scenario — factor per kg of building product |
| Waste | Waste fractions on the construction site — modules A1-A3 + C3 + C4 |
Emissions are entered either as a single fixed factor or factor per year (interpolated linearly between years; the nearest year is used outside the range).
