How to search the library
Purpose
Section titled “Purpose”Find the right building product, construction or energy source among the available libraries.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”You have access to at least one library (the official library is always available).
- Click Insert from library (from a construction’s row menu in the building model), or Library in the top menu to browse freely.
- Use the search field: search by name, GUID or EPD number. Multiple words are each matched separately (e.g. “beam 100” finds “Beam, steel IPE 100”), and with a search term the result is sorted by relevance instead of alphabetically.
- From the building model you can narrow the search to specific libraries on the left-hand side of the search window; the search is automatically scoped to the project’s calculation mode. From the Library overview you filter by library type instead (Official, Organization or Personal), and can choose a Calculation mode in a dropdown yourself to narrow the list.
Requirement filters and data filters
Section titled “Requirement filters and data filters”The filter panel has two kinds of filters:
- Requirement filters (Validity, Standard) are always there, with fixed options, regardless of whether the result currently has anything matching them. They show no counts: a requirement isn’t a tally of data.
- Data filters (Location, Program operator, Licence) only appear once the result actually has variation to filter on, and show a count per option.
| Filter | Type | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Validity | Requirement | All, the current year, or one of the next 6 years |
| Standard | Requirement | EN15804+A1, EN15804+A2, No standard |
| Location | Data | Shown with at least two different locations in the result, searchable list |
| Program operator | Data | Shown with at least two different program operators, searchable list |
| Licence | Data | Shown when at least one building product has a restricted licence |
When the Validity filter is hiding expired building products, the panel shows how many are hidden, and you can click to show them again. If none are expired in the result, that’s shown too.
Browse between versions
Section titled “Browse between versions”If a building product or construction has several versions, the detail panel shows a version switcher (“Version …”): click it to browse the versions (newest first, marked “(newest)”) and deliberately pick an older one. The insert action follows the version shown. The switcher only shows versions that meet the active filters.
Result
Section titled “Result”You find the right building product or construction, ready to be added to your building model or your own library. The list loads as you scroll, with a counter (“N of M results”) showing how far you are.
