How to register own production from solar panels

Purpose

Register exported electricity from e.g. solar panels, so it’s subtracted in the calculation.

Prerequisites

You’re on Building and operation, under Energy consumption in operation, and you have the BE18 key figures for the project.

Steps

1. Read Solceller (photovoltaics) under Ydelse fra særlige kilder in the BE18 key figures.
2. Subtract the threshold of 13.2 kWh/m²/year from the yield. If the result is positive, that is the exported electricity. If it is zero or negative, enter nothing: the entire production is already included in the energy framework.
3. Add the own production as an energy source, the same way as regular consumption.
4. Enter the calculated amount of exported electricity in kWh/m²/year.

BE18 has already subtracted the share of renewable energy production that may be included in the energy framework from the key figures for heat and electricity. That share must therefore not be entered again in LCAbyg.

Where the threshold comes from

Renewable energy production may be included in the energy framework by no more than 25 kWh/m²/year (guidance on energy consumption 1.12). That figure carries a factor of 1.9 for electricity production under BR18 § 252, and since LCAbyg needs the actual energy demand without an energy factor, the threshold becomes 25 / 1.9 = 13.2 kWh/m²/year.

Result

Exported electricity counts as negative consumption in module D, not in B6.
