What belongs to the construction site (A5)?

What is included under module A5: the construction process itself on the construction site.

Module A5 covers impacts from constructing and assembling the building on the construction site. In the current LCAbyg version, A5 consumption is recorded under Construction site as energy use during the construction period.

What is included in A5?

You can record energy sources and the total consumption for the construction period, such as electricity or district heating. If you have data for several years, you can enter one row per year. LCAbyg calculates the contribution from the energy source’s emission factor and the entered consumption.

A5 and A4 are different

Transport of building products, soil, waste or equipment belongs to A4 and is recorded in the transport sections. Energy used on the construction site for construction and assembly belongs to A5. Keep transport data and construction-site energy use separate.

Material waste

The previous LCAbyg version had a feature for recording material waste as a percentage of building products. That feature is not present in the new LCAbyg version and should not be entered under Construction site. Material use in the current calculation instead comes from the quantities of building products in the building model.
